There has been much controversy over energy drinks and food bars in recent years. While many people consume them every day, others say they\’re not healthy at all. some energy drinks have been banned or regulated in a few places. There is a wide variety of availability these days in energy, food, diet bars and drinks on the market and some are definitely better for you than others. Here you will see a couple of facts regarding which ones really are and are not healthy for you to use.
One reason that many people today consume too many energy drinks is that they\’re sleep deprived. Not a single product, not even coffee, energy drinks or vitamins, which can act as a proxy for sleep deprivation. It is one thing to have an intermittent energy drink to give you an extra bit of awareness when you desire it, yet it\’s something else if you utilize these drinks as a replacement to sleep.
Food bars or energy bars are popular among people who are on diets, often used as meal substitutes. While many of these bars do have fewer calories that many meals they are not usually healthy calories, most of them contain sugar and artificial ingredients. You\’re also not getting essential fibers and healthy fats when you eat too many food bars instead of meals. Food bars can of course be a great snack especially if combined with healthy eating habits or as part of a meal but they should not replace regular meals on a regular basis. If you\’re looking at food bars to replace real food, you have to be especially careful that you\’re not just eating candy bars with healthier sounding names!
Some energy or food bars are packed with fat and sugar or high fructose corn syrup, and these don\’t have any more nutritional value than candy bars. Still, some energy bars are full of protein and can be a healthy snack in between meals or in advance of working out. There is a plethora of food bars on the market however some of the more superior ones are Prana Bars, Larabars and Probars.
In summary, food bars and energy drinks have to be considered individually, as some are healthier than others. It\’s important to pay attention to your body since your experience is likely to differ from any one else\’s. It\’s imperative to your health that you read the labels and know what the ingredients really are. Don\’t let advertising hype guide you, instead do your own due diligence.
