Hiding away deep in the courage of Hackney is little sanctuary of cafes and coffee bars in Clapton, E5.

The entire vibe centres on Chatsworth Road, E5, with its decorative, cosmopolitan feel, and hot young things drinking coffee while surfing on their Macs.

Cakey Muto is maybe the pick of the coffee shop E5 pile. Just north of Homerton Surgery in the midst of the Chatsworth Road Sun. market bustle, Cakey Muto is truly a coffee bar to be sampled and savoured.

Serving Monmouth Coffee\’s organic, fair trade coffee – as well as a full authorised bar for harder souls – Cakey Muto brilliantly captures the E5 cafe essence.

The licensed bar sells a complete range of lagers and spirits, and wines sourced from Jascot\’s glorious range of affordable, and eminently quaffable, bottles.

Eclectic, inventive, fun. And with a jukebox to die for: possibly the best set of discs in London.

While you are enjoying your organic coffee, and surfing the world wide web beyond Clapton (or perhaps just surfing the sights on Chatsworth Road outside), you actually should try a slab of Cakey Muto\’s handcrafted cakes.

Manifestly, with a name like Cakey Muto, it\’s fair to expect the coffee (or beer) should be washing down something tasty and tolerably calorific. The cakes and other confections are all made in their own E5 coffee bar kitchen, and are all divine.

And, for those crazy souls who like tasty to sweet, you will be happy to know that Mr Hair\’s Pies are baking here… As well as range prepared quiche and delicious sandwiches.

What more is it critical to know? Chatsworth Road, Clapton, E5 is home to the coolest coffee bars in East London, and Cakey Muto is maybe the best cafeteria of them all.

Great coffee, great cake, licensed bar, amazing setting, chilled vibe, awesome jukebox.
